Benjamin Thomas Taylor is a British artist based in London, who paints Pop Art style landscapes.
Benjamin’s work is full of playful juxtapositions. Flat blocks of colour surround diagrams of numbers and lines, areas of text are embedded within landscapes and appropriated imagery is placed within original compositions. The end result is a kind of romantic Pop Art.
I like the series of pictures with phrases in white against a garish canvas. In the images above I have show the original and then a secondary photo to show the details. These are the perfect pictures for a man cave somewhere.
I love the humour of the paint by numbers motif in these works. They are large imposing Pop art posters which have a vibrancy of colour and due to the looseness with how they are painted a sense of movement and shock.
