Cecilia Lueza is an Argentine-born American painter and sculptor.
Throughout her career, Lueza has explored a wide range of artistic media, from traditional ones like painting and sculpture - in wood, metal, acrylic and polyurethane- to monumental projects like street murals and public art installations.
Some of Lueza's murals, installations and huge scale paintings are impressive, but I am more taken with her smaller sculptural works. There is an element of dreamscape in her smaller pieces, the way smaller pieces combine to form a recognisable person. Small dots form into a person or birds into a lady.
Great use of colours and intimate portraits, inspired by nature and geometric abstraction, her sculptures and installations explore the concepts of space, movement and transition.
