Gary Hoang, a digital collage artist creating vintage surrealism.
I love these works, there's a lot of humour and the clash between twee 50's imagery and ultra modern space scenes harks back to the ideals of old sci-fi movies.
Hoang creates wonderful worlds capes which almost capture the spirit of the original space race. These images can transport you to a different time and place. there is a sense of humour in these images, the clash of the old and modern but also the interaction between the characters and their environment.
These images almost make you question what happened to the space race? The recent efforts to create viable space tourism shows there is still a market for this. No man has stepped not the moon since 1972 nearly 50 years ago, we are seeing global warming, the endless creation of plastic waste and the slow dying of the planet we are going to have to look to the skies soon to continue as a species and Hoang's work creates a utopia.
