Claire Moynihan meticulously hand embroiders British insects onto felt balls, which are beautifully presented as entomological collections. Claire processes local alpaca wool to produce the felt balls and stitches three dimensional insects onto the surface. This allows the viewer to appreciate the diverse details of the insect world through her careful observations and intricate embroidery.

I first came across these at the Byard Art Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair 2016.
These are a much kinder way of seeing some of natures most beautiful creatures without needing to kill anything.
These are so accurate, the works are simply stunning. The works are almost exact size and colours.
If you contact the artist you can request her to create a bespoke set of bugs for you.
