Photographer Toby Burrows studied painting and photography at Sydney College of the Arts before leaving for London in 1991. It was whilst managing Europe’s largest photographic studio complex, Holborn Studios – London, that Toby’s passion for photography grew.
The series of work I particularly like is called Soliloquy, I have seen other series of work and you can hear his voice come through but I think it resonates most clearly to me through that series.
Soliloquy features a girl seemingly falling from a great height in a range of natural settings. The natural lighting is amazing and the depth and warmth of the images suck you in, despite the central figure you can get lost in the landscapes.
These prints are massive a metre or more high and wide simply beautiful.
