Will Teather creates paintings and drawings that often depict curious characters caught up in uncanny situations.
His latest works are painted on large globes, sometimes suspended like a disco ball or on a stand, they allow the artist to make a play with perspective and create strange reflections of the world around us.
I met Will Teather and enjoyed speaking with him about his works on globes, the compositions employ experimental forms of perspective to create immersive 360-degree realistic images - with both the perspective and the representation slyly shifting depending on the point you look at them.
Teather makes his works more engaging by changing the frame of reference, his paintings on globes are interactive, you almost have to touch and gently rotate the works to dive into the scene. He picks normal places, streets, bookshops and makes them important through his works.
